Lifestyle Choice Brings Relief From Stress

Stress relief is one phrase that gets a lot of attention. Hundreds of books and web sites offer up a host of suggestions that can help people reduce their stress levels including such things as exercise, yoga, or even mood setting music. While each of these choices is viable in that they can help you deal with difficulties, failure, or work related stressors, are they resolving the root issues/problems?

Life isn’t always easy and I don’t think anyone would tell you differently. But, either is learning to walk, to ride a bike, or to learn how to water-ski. Each one of us has faced challenges at some point in our lives whether that is mastering a subject at school, or learning a new skill, or in a pressure filled job environment where you may feel there is no stress relief. The difference, though, is that those individuals who have succeeded and continue to succeed have been able to change their polarity, that is, they have learned to flow from the negative to the positive.

One of the main qualities of successful people, and one of the main ingredients to those who are consistently able to handle on-going stress in their life, is that they have learned to turn negatives into positives, consciously making that choice of lifestyle. So, the question is how did they do it; and what is the one predominant factor that enables them to continuously defeat problems? Simply stated, they have accepted responsibility for their own lives. They realize that it’s not up to their spouse, their family, or their elected representative.

It’s entirely up to you. You have the choice to turn a negative to a positive; you have the option to choose despair, or positive action. Life isn’t about falling down and staying there. Life is about starting again when you fall down. We’ve all fallen down at one time or another. But, the difference is that those who have learned to accept responsibility for their lives, and those that take positive action to resolve issues not blame everyone and everything are the ones who have achieved a truly positive life. For each failure we discover there is an opportunity to learn from our mistakes, to move forward having learned from mistakes so we can move further forward than the last time. And, if failure should be experienced again, they stand up again and start over. Or, as some would say, they’ve learned to back up and reload and take action again.

Procrastination isn’t in a successful and positive person’s vocabulary, and neither is the all too often used excuse that uncontrollable circumstances continue to cause stress and aniexty. Positive people have made a lifestyle choice to accept responsibility for their lives where adaptability is harnessed with creativity to keep a balance of life within. Choose a positive lifestyle and find stress relief, your health will thank you!
