with your family physician. They can advise on whether the

Social Workers & Counselors: Not as professionally
trained as the above two, they can offer help by giving you
practical solutions and advice.
Whenever looking for a healthcare professional, make sure to
check their background, their level of experience and the

particular situation before. After all, sessions with these
professionals aren't cheap, and you want to get the biggest
"bang for your buck".
Think of your doctor or therapist as your teammate,
together, you can develop a strategy that you're comfortable

Programs, if your employer has one. These programs will usually
refer you to a counselor or therapist and most of the time it
is free of charge for you. Seeking help from the EAP is also a
confidential matter, the employer will not be informed of your
visit.
There are also support groups setup by patients who want to
help one another. Often times, many anxiety sufferers are not
even aware of these groups, because they don't venture far from
home. However, there should be a support group in your area, or
if there isn't, why not create one! Thats right, having a
like-minded group that you can share problems with, discuss
strategies, and call on for help can be a huge confidence
booster in dealing with panic attacks & anxiety
disorders.
